“Everyman, Everyday, Everywhere.”

In recent years, one might say that the ever-reliable and ever-dutiful navy and charcoal suiting options have become judged; thought of as too commonplace, conventional, or for some, a little uninspiring and while, yes, they are a wardrobe staple for most, we believe this doesn’t make them any less beautiful, unique or above all else; desirable.

There is an abundance of subtle beauty within the everyday; within the commonly found, that very often goes unnoticed by the modern attention aggravated mind. John Koenig elucidates said charm perfectly within his conceptualisation of what he calls ‘Maru Mori’, his innovative definition of ‘the heart-breaking simplicity of ordinary things’. For him, this is where the veracity of life really simmers.

You see every object has its own individuality that is constructed precisely from those whose story they become a part of. Like us human beings, they have their own histories, imbued with characteristics, stories, and qualities. Indeed, whilst on the outside they may appear unassuming or even the look same as those that they came off the production line with but beneath it all they aren’t, they are much more than the sum of their parts.

Much like, if we allow ourselves to dip briefly into our pool of memory, that dining-room table in our childhood home that we can all recall, etched both figuratively and literally with times gone-by. Always there, always consistent and to be relied upon - never in the moment thought much of yet provided the backdrop for an array of monumental occasions.

With time these things move from “its” to “they’s”, to “he’s and she’s”, they become spoken about in tones usually reserved for old friends. In fact, the longer they are with us, the more reliable they demonstrate to be and the easier they prove themselves to be utilised then the more they become cherished and instilled with a kinship-like attachment, appreciation, and respect. They warrant us to keep going back to them, to keep using and enjoying them again and again precisely because of this.

We introduce, an expansion of our CORE collection, The Everyman Suits. Created with a 10.5oz high twist merino wool, The Everyman Suit, by its inherent make-up, is a suit that is the very encapsulation of ease, elegance, and dependability. The high-twist nature of the yarn ensures the textile is anti-crease due to its ‘bounce-back’ property, resulting in a feeling of being as freshly pressed on its eighth wear as it did on its first. With some high-twist textiles there can be a tendency for a particularly overly dry, crisp finish and whilst there is an essence of that with the Everyman, there is a slight softness to the handle. The nature of this fabric ensures that whilst it is a prime partner for the spring/summer seasons, it can however be utilised throughout the year.

In our colourways we have, of course, a distinguishing, yet elegant deep navy and a refined, versatile charcoal, last but not least, soft, timeless, yet eye-catching light grey, especially when proposed in a more pronounced silhouette.

The Everyman suit collection is now available. You may also commission these fabrics in your style via our custom-made services, both bespoke and made-to-measure. Speak to the team for more information.
