The Anthology is a classic menswear label specialising in bespoke tailoring and classical inspired leisurewear, focusing on modernity and originality.
We aim to contemporise classic menswear by injecting creativity and thoughtfulness into the aesthetics and functionality of our designs. We strive to continue an exceptional tradition of craft and dedication to every facet of our garments and its making process. Our ethos is based on respect for craftsmanship, preservation and collaboration with unsung artisans from our atelier. Under the vision and creative direction of the founders Andy Chong and Buzz Tang, we strive to pursue the spirit of precision, modernity and audacious ingenuity, as well as relentless endeavours to nurture and inspire our customers, elevating and embracing every individual’s artistic expressiveness.
Our bespoke garments are handcrafted by a team of well-honed craftsmen from our in-house atelier.
The Anthology house style is a culmination of the founders’ prolonged study on body proportions and their subsequent reinterpretation of what constitutes a modern golden ratio.
The house style features extended shoulders, a lower gorge and a specific proportion of collars and lapels that has been tweaked for almost a year. Considering Asia’s hot and humid weather — climate change too — and the decline in formality in modern day work culture, we believe there is a need to adapt to something that is softer, lighter and in essence more comfortable than something that is unnecessarily bulky and constrictive. While we have kept the interior of the jacket soft, it also comes along with slightly roped shoulders that retain an extent of formality in consideration of the needs of certain professions.
We embrace softness and comfort as well as body positivity. We don’t see bodies as vessels of flaws. We simply want you to embrace it by letting a soft garment drape over you.
It is not uncommon for mens’s wardrobes to be restricted to a world that only consists of classic navy and grey.
They are without a doubt essential wardrobe staples, but The Anthology endeavours to help one broaden their world of possibilities — to explore unique colour spectrums and distinctive textures and patterns that are within classic boundaries.
At The Anthology’s bespoke showrooms, we provide you with a curated fabric selection mainly from the UK, Italy and the rest of the world, with regular seasonal updates from mills and merchants as well as some meticulously handpicked vintage and dead-stock cloths that are exclusive to us.
