What We Wore at Pitti Uomo 105
A recap of the team spending three days last week at the biannual menswear tradeshow in Florence - Pitti Uomo, the 105th edition, where we connect with industry friends and run through developments, to make more opportunities and possibilities happen at The Anthology.
Our team members continue to define new ways of dressing within the world of classic menswear. Throughout our three days visiting the show, we dress according to what is hot at the moment, and we hope you discover joy and inspiration from each of the stylised combinations.
Pitti Day One
Buzz wears the black corduroy double-breasted sport coat, charcoal pleated trousers and black Bloomsbury tassel loafers with the Sand Dune field jacket hand-held, all available in our ready-to-wear collection.
100% Wool
With a penchant for clean lines and sophisticated, unfussy design philosophy, this is our take on a field jacket that offers a neat, tailored finish with a semi-modern look that strips down all military connotations but with only good functionality in mind. Perfect leisurewear for off-duty and travel.
Form follows function — Imbued with utilitarian influences, the design comes with four flap pockets with press studs, buttoned cuffs and concealed plackets, maintaining a clean front look, yet designed with an action back enabling ample movement. Side warmers are also implemented for hands to be inserted at ease during the cold. Shaped to a relaxed silhouette, the jacket can be worn solo or with a sport jacket underneath, equipped with internal drawstrings so you can cinch the relaxed fit for a smarter look.
The garment is made of a well-bodied pure lambswool. Significant in durability, the fabric conversely offers suppleness and a natural give for flexible layering and action. In simpler words, it takes the best of both worlds. Fabric is woven in melange yarns that resort to a desaturated version of our signature house colour honey, forming a mixture of shades in soft sand and beige, easy to style with both neutral and high contrast colours.
Pair this with:
All shirts and polos, or any knitwear you prefer, ranging from thin to chunky. For trousers, we highly recommend Civilman Trousers or denim for casual, or pleated trousers in brown, green, grey and white for a dressier look.
100% Cotton
Breathing new life into black in tailoring, twisting the idea of the colour to enable usage outside of the formal settings while respectfully following tradition. It is why we experiment with corduroy, as the fabrication has historically always been an outlet for creative colours. The only distinction is, instead of going for a bright colour, we go the opposite way for a deep, sunken and light-absorbent black.
Keeping it extremely wearable and versatile, the 12-wale black cotton corduroy offers a defined structure, durable to use, yet softened with a supple, velveted finish on the exterior, fully expressing functionality and elegance with the slightest hint of the avant-garde all at once.
This design features a 6-roll-2 configuration, slightly more horizontal lapels, subtly angled, signature lapel buttonhole, also higher armholes giving the garment an exceptional range of motion. We’ve also extended the shoulders slightly with our unpadded waterfall shoulder for an extra touch of casual flair.

We are honoured to create this collaboration model crafted by one of the last remaining English shoemakers, the formidable, dependable, failproof Crockett & Jones.
Bloomsbury is an absolute no-fuss, short-vamped tassel loafer. It is an ode to Bloomsbury Group's commitment to exploring new ways of thinking, like how a tassel loafer was born out of artistic curiosities.
On an archival 72 last, the shoe features a short vamp and a soft almond toe, modishly executed with wider joints to achieve a versatile look, also made more comfortable. The style opens doors to both casual and formal styling, instead of a typical long-vamp loafer where strictly formal dressing is preferred.
This design is done in black suede, with single leather sole, Goodyear welted. Box and individual shoe bags included.

100% Cotton
Suitable for all smart to casual settings, there is nowhere this pair of trousers can’t take you.
Civilman Trousers are the relaxed versions of your tailored dress trousers. Like a chino, it is at the same time a step-up of the rugged jeans/classic denim. It embodies a modest and courteous image, mostly casual with a hint of dressiness. The cloth is the ultimate highlight. The 12-wale black cotton corduroy offers a defined structure, durable to use, yet softened with a supple, velveted finish on the exterior, fully expressing functionality and elegance with the slightest hint of the avant-garde all at once.
This design is based on the classic five-pocket denim, built-in with curved inset pockets on the sides of the front with a coin pocket (formerly referred to as a watch pocket). The traditionally big patch back pockets are purposely replaced with our signature anchor-shaped flaps. Cut for a mid to high-rise, straight-legged, perfect for tailoring and casual wear. Wear them pressed with the centre crease or without, up to your preference.
Complete the set with: Cotton Corduroy Sport Jacket - Black
Care tips: Cold wash (below 30°C) by hand or machine, hang dry only. Due to the nature of the cloth, a total of 1.5cm length shrinkage may apply from the first few machine washes.

A monochrome colour scheme executed with balanced scale and contrast, this is a timeless design for the modern tailoring wardrobe. This piece honours the classical look for golden-era film lovers to pair with a shirt and a tie. Alternatively, it is suitable to be styled casually for sartorial elegance with a modern twist of avant-garde during off-duty days.
Fabric is woven by a renowned noble mill in Scotland in a mid-weight merino wool, soft with a woollen touch. The piece drapes excellently over a shirt, polo, t-shirt and all kinds of knitwear while equally desirable to be worn under big overcoats.

Two years in a row, Buzz wears the ready-to-wear ‘A’ Wrap Coat in brown cavalry twill, colour blocking with a cool-toned cashmere scarf for a distinctive mismatch.
100% Wool
A flowy and free form bathrobe-like wrap coat that combines a highly durable cloth, drapes gracefully, feels substantial yet agile, expressing a unique flair and drama with the sensibility of casual elegance.
This design is a Balmacaan style, raglan-sleeved, A-line, over-the-knee coat. It features a loose fit, dropped shoulders and a hidden placket that evokes the warm despite relaxed construction of a bathrobe, retaining an overall simplicity and minimality of design. With the inclusion of a belt and exclusion of a vent, once strapped around the waist, it adds shape to its voluminous silhouette, lending the whole affair a generous form, creating what we describe as 'drama'.
The material diverges from the typical shell or gabardine jacket, the usual raincoat type of material. Specially woven for us in a 25/26oz (700gm) British wool cavalry twill that highlights a visually enticing dual-twill feature, the dense weaving construction of the cloth is also naturally hard-wearing whilst water-repellent with no need for artificial coating. Matte and designed in a cool-tone brown, perfect for winter layering with a wide range of colours.

Pitti Day Three
Robert wears his straight-leg denim rolled up, with cream rollneck, bespoke country tweed houndstooth jacket and our collaboration unlined Hartford chukka boots in snuff suede for a long day of shooting, making sure his feet are being well taken care of.
We are honoured to create this collaboration model crafted by one of the last remaining English shoemakers, the formidable, dependable, failproof Crockett & Jones.
Hartford is an unlined two-eyelet chukka boot with minimal design, turning the spotlight on the toe shape and last. The unlined design of the shoe provides a comfortable and breathable fit, making it an excellent choice for warmer weather or for those who prefer a lighter shoe.
On a 224 last, the shoe features a slight almond-toed look, softly-rounded but not chubby, angular but not arrogant nor formal. The shoe last is also particularly well-proportioned, leaving enough room to keep the overall balance elegant with no compromises on elongating the vamp by the use of another last.
This design is done in snuff suede, with Crockett's famous city rubber sole, Goodyear welted. Box and individual shoe bags included.
