There are few occasions that ask more of a wardrobe than a wedding. It is one of the rare moments where dressing well is beyond matter of personal expression, but a gesture of respect for the occasion, the couple, and for the memories that will inevitably outlast the day itself.
This summer, that sentiment felt especially close to home as we gathered to celebrate the marriage of one of our own. An afternoon filled with speeches, laughter, familiar faces, and the rituals that make such occasions unforgettable.
Naturally, eveningwear found its place as the sun gave way to the night. A black tie dress code remains one of menswear's great traditions, not because it insists on uniformity, but because it allows character to emerge through restraint. It is a reminder that elegance is often most convincing when it asks for very little.
Yet wedding season rarely begins and ends with the ceremony alone. Garden receptions, welcome dinners, and long afternoons beneath the summer sun call for a different kind of wardrobe.
Not every invitation arrives with the words "black-tie" printed at the bottom. In fact, many summer weddings are built around a tailored suit. The atmosphere is lighter, the dress codes less exacting, and there is often a little more room to dress according to one's own tastes.
A suit owns its own powerful language. The fact that the jacket and trousers come in the same fabric and colour adds a layer of formality that separates cannot overtake.
At The Anthology, we love the idea of a suit that can be separated, meaning a suit that is casual enough to be worn as separates, yet formal enough to be worn as a suit when the two pieces are worn together. To be able to do that, we’d have to lean in heavily to the texture of cloth.
Sueded linen is this one-of-a-kind three-ply linen that goes through a tumble process with an outcome of a unique pre-patina effect. They are soft in appearance. The purity of linen and the unique finish gives the right amount of formality, carrying a richness that feels equally at home worn as a complete suit or separated into individual pieces. It’s one of the rare mediums that are vastly appropriate for this usage.
Tried and tested, it is one of the most worn garments as wedding guests, at least from our personal experiences.
Quickly skimming through the new colour additions of the season. Ink Blue is our approach to the general broad spectrum of navy for the summer. We have our Poseidon Blue and many more variants, because that’s our contrarian take on a summer navy. Save the perfect navy for your business suits, and leave your vacations with something that evokes a different feeling.
Cream is a colour that people may think it’s not for the faint of heart, but it has always held a special place in our hearts. It evokes the elegance of the golden age of tailoring, the glamour of the Art Deco age in the 30s, the world of The Great Gatsby, and the effortless sophistication of the French Riviera in the 50s and 60s. Reimagined through a modern lens and elevated by the technical refinement of our sueded linen, this is our dream cloth.
Getting the colour right was first and foremost. We wanted a cream with genuine depth and warmth—rather than a patchy almost-white adjacent shade or something as dark as an egg yolk, a rich yellow undertone without even the slightest trace of fluorescence for all complexions is what we are trying to achieve. The sueded finish softens the overall appearance, giving the fabric a relaxed character that feels just as appropriate for a summer afternoon as it does for an elegant evening. Worn together, the jacket and trousers create a striking suit, but each piece stands confidently on its own. The jacket is undeniably a style statement, while the trousers are surprisingly versatile, serving as an exceptional foundation for countless summer outfits.
Daniel's dinner jacket was crafted from this very cloth. Made bespoke in a single-breasted silhouette with peak lapels and finished with self-covered buttons, it captures the timeless elegance of classic eveningwear. It is, without question, one of the most treasured pieces in his tailoring wardrobe.
A wedding is, in many ways, a celebration of continuity. Families grow, friendships deepen, traditions are carried forward. Perhaps our wardrobes should aspire to much the same, evolving gradually while remaining familiar, ready for the occasions that quietly become part of our own story.
To the bride and groom, we wish you a happy ever after.
Our new sueded linen garments in Cream and Ink Blue are now available as part of the High Summer 2026 collection. We invite you to explore the collection online and in stores, and to discover the full story behind the season through Illusione Perfetta on Chronicles.

It is a specially treated linen that has a very special place in our hearts — arguably the house's top choice of linen. This cream shade is specially developed for The Anthology.
This is a double-breasted suit jacket, a piece that can live on its own or pair with its amicable bottoms to complete a set. Fabric is sourced from Solbiati, the world's leading linen weavers under Loro Piana. Woven in a 3-ply twisted yarn with unique finishing, this cloth is sumptuously soft and substantially textured. This exquisite textile boasts what we describe as a suede finish, imbuing it with a velvety handle that invites tactile exploration. Unlike traditional linens offering a crisp and dry visual appeal, the sueded linen welcomes more transitional styling while retaining the natural elegance and breathability characteristic of linen with its twisted yarn nature, with an additional attribute of slight resistance to creasing.
Our jacket features an unpadded shoulder with our signature lapel buttonhole, with higher armholes giving the garment an exceptional range of motion. We’ve also extended the shoulders slightly to complement the natural shoulder to make the silhouette look more relaxed and at ease.
