Anthology x Permanent Style Polo Coat in Camelhair

In partnership with Simon Crompton, leading authority of luxury menswear, as well as menswear writer and editor of Permanent Style blog, we developed our take on the traditional Polo Coat. We applied multiple bespoke craft details to this creation, making it an addition to the ready-to-wear market as one of a kind piece. Introducing The Polo Coat, available here now. Below are a few of the most outstanding features of the design:

A fully handmade asset, lapels are carefully hand-stitched in a consistent manner by our well-honed craftsmen.

Fully hand-padded lapels

Quirky touches that can scarcely be found in the ready-to-wear market, especially the flapped chest pocket, in a style that is reminiscent of the old-fashioned Polo Coat as worn by the famous Duke of Windsor, world-class tennis or polo players or affluent Ivy League students from the 1960s.

Signature hand-sewn buttonholes

Hours of tremendous handwork done to perfection, all by the specialised craftsmen from our atelier. Our signature buttonhole does not only apply to one side of the lapel, but instead, on both sides, as well as the rest of the coat.

Fabric in 100% Camelhair

Sourcing the finest natural fibres only, the camelhair serves a good medium as an insulator and also as a trusty warmer. With the use of a 23oz (650grams) pure camelhair fabric, the garment fully utilises the suppleness of the cloth which successfully incorporates its softness with the soft canvassing structure of this tailoring masterpiece. This piece is also designed and constructed with consideration of a reasonable weight which ensures one to be able to enjoy the garment under the frigid at ease without feeling overly burdened on the shoulders and around the back due to the weight of the cloth. The design is thoughtful, functional and luxurious.

Martingale half-belt detail

Convertible vents with a three-button fastening at the end of the coat, with a half-belt design placed around the waist, which helps defining body proportions.

Embroidered sprat’s heads (triangular embroideries)

Meticulously crafted embroideries on both the upper and lower end of the back, which is an elaborate showcase of not only the fine craft but also our attention to detail. The inspiration is borrowed from the finest handcrafted old-school style bespoke overcoats.
