Street Slippers by Bowhill & Elliott for The Anthology - Mocha Deerskin

Street Slippers by Bowhill & Elliott for The Anthology - Mocha Deerskin
We are delighted to co-create this street slipper with Bowhill & Elliott, the last remaining slipper maker in the UK. This esteemed house still upholds the traditional ethos of "make in the back, sell in the front," with the entire shoemaking process taking place within two floors.
The upper pattern of the street slipper is meticulously hand-cut from a single piece, resulting in a more fluid and seamless design. Departing from the conventional Albert-style evening slipper, this tailored creation features a shorter vamp and eliminates sharp turns on the tongue, maintaining a consistently soft contour. This complements the natural curves of our tailoring, allowing for a more casual styling option. Imagine a standard slip-on loafer, but refined with one-piece leather and a thin, hand-attached sole that closely hugs the bottom of the shoe, exuding an understated elegance. It pairs beautifully with trousers, denim, and shorts alike.
Crafted from grained deerskin in mocha, the upper is both supple and durable, allowing for comfortable movement in this hand-lasted slipper. This design elevates the common loafer, adding an extra touch of sophistication and individuality to your ensemble.
Summary:
- UK sizing
- Mocha deerskin upper
- Single leather sole. Topy (rubber) soles are recommended to be attached by your local cobbler before wearing

65% Cotton, 35% Linen
Long, but right before your knees, keeping your proportions right, also exemplifying pleated perfection.
If a pair of shorts go too long, covering one's knees, it makes one looks short. If the shorts are done too short and timid, it would look more like a pair of swim trunks, or worse, boxers. This artefact is all about striking the perfect balance, and we managed to find the unrivalled solution.
As part of The Anthology’s resortwear series, this is a ‘modern-vintage’ design made in a cotton/linen blend as a quintessential item, suitable to wear on the beach, the city, or even an excursion.
The form of the shorts is the true essence — it embodies chic and comfort. With practicality in mind, the design comes with slight volume around the thigh and the opening, ensuring the piece to be generous around the thigh part, allows ventilation.
The use of cloth is also the highlight. Cotton as the major constituent upholds a supple and moist look to the general garment, smoothens up linen’s characteristically dry and crisp handle. It also offers a more structural body, making creases look less wrinkly. The appeal is reminiscent of traditional preppy or English country chinos, just with an extra touch of linen for a sense of modernity and practicalism.
Linen also serves a functional purpose as it possesses a quick-dry effect and ventilating property due to its looser weaving structure, allowing wearers to enjoy their best under the heat. It is also traditionally perceived as a luxurious fabrication.
(We recommend the shorts hem to end right before your knees, otherwise, bring it to your alteration tailor for a simple alteration for the best result.)

As part of The Anthology’s resortwear series, this is the long-sleeve popover based on the 1960s beach shirt with our modified twists. An expressive throw-on-and-go piece, this piece is uniquely proportioned to pivot between a standalone statement and a stylish layering piece. The design comes with an enlarged pocket and a specially designed collar with horn buttons where need be.
The essence of the design comes in the fit. The loose fit of this popover allows for unrestricted movement and comfort. The fabric gently skims the body, creating a flattering and relaxed look. With the loose-fitting flowingness, the design oozes an air of elegance, with effortless drape and graceful silhouette lending a touch of at-ease sophistication. Curved hem with raised side slits, the bottom forms a dynamic opening, taking the whole fluid form to another level.
Widely distinctive from usual shirting cloth, this design comes in a specially sourced open-weave linen, accompanied by excellent drape and hang, and an abundance of herringbone woven texture.
Pair this with: Khaki, honey, cream, green and brown. Perfect for the beach paired with shorts or swimming trunks. Finish off the look with your Panama hat, French espadrilles and your favourite pair of sunnies.
