The ‘A’ Wrap Coat at Pitti

One of the uppermost and imperative pieces of the season is the ‘A’ Wrap Coat. In a more versatile form to our first proposed coating silhouette, the Polo Coat, this first release of the raglan-sleeved wrap coat has been yearned and anticipated by our Anthologists, ourselves included. The piece has been heavily used by our team members during our stay in Florence earlier at Pitti Uomo. Here are a few tips from our style experts to help you style a myriads of looks.

A power juxtaposition, to dress up by going power suiting underneath

With the absence of ‘I am superior’ or ‘I speak of a certain look and era’ especially from the shoulder line, the ‘A’ Wrap Coat is interestingly quite the casual elegant design despite the reimagined and repurposed choice of textile in cavalry twill, where traditional heavily structured military coats also used. A powerful single or double-breasted suit underneath with signatures roped shoulders would best draw attention to the distinction between the two, but the juxtaposition is well harmonised, and it is just right. At the end of the day, we are still working within the fine lines of soft tailoring.

Spicing it up with some drama

‘One and for all’. The full-length coat is a piece that covers wholly, heavily cinched around the waist and the contrasted flaring starts from the waist point down to the end. heavily cinch around the waist and the contrasted flaring starting from the waist point down to the end. The movement of the skirt flows, going forward or back in time, converges with the alluring power that exudes drama and gracefulness, while the structure and weight of the cloth inject a sensible dosage of masculinity and drape.

The coat remains in the limelight while we accessorise around it. Civilman Trousers in black corduroy, keeping it subtle.

The elevated everyday

The shin-grazing, over-the-knee length made it functional and elegant. Tweed, knit, denim for a textural manifesto. Cape it over anything under one simple condition: as long as colours do not clash. Fret not, styling has been made easy as the soft olive tint to the brown was thoughtfully designed, and has softened up the palette, making it simple for easy pairing. You would never find it look faddish or passé. It's the type of coat that one can wear with tailoring and casualwear at the same time.

Enjoy our ready-to-wear offering in this new season silhouette in our specially developed cavalry twill.
