Staying in touch with our locals in Hong Kong. We’ve recently put together a series of styling shoot in the studio with our local The New Black Optical, eyewear curators who have an eye on mostly Japanese independent and legacy eyewear labels. We wish you derive joy and inspiration from the series.
Look I:
A look crafted for the intellectual. Drape and weight, carrying the weight of wisdom and knowledge on the shoulders. Flow and form, embodying a sense of scholarly gravitas, also allowing mobility for days when going up and down among wooden-shelved libraries and dusty archives. Up top, bright tonal layers inject a touch of freshness, a nod to the vibrancy of new ideas amid storied surroundings.
Rodd wears the painters' inspired Goodman Jacket in Tobacco, with the 6-ply cotton sweater in Sienna and Canvas Wide Trousers. Finished off with the choice of a combination eyewear frame, with fine etchings and acetate rims that sharpen the gaze. The Goodman Jacket captures the essence of modern day’s pared-down tailoring. Like the Lazyman Jacket's casual elegance, the structureless Goodman Jacket offers an additional touch of structure and form by using heavier fabrics. It drapes, gives shape, and its notched lapels and patch pockets offer a nod to timeless tailoring. Unlined and cut longer with straight lines, this jacket melds the best of a traditional blazer and a chore coat. Forgoing a chest pocket, it features unique double-side waist pockets that highlight perfect symmetry, accented by a small lapel loop.
Crafted from a modified heavyweight linen from one of our regular Japanese looms, this jacket boasts a coarse basketweave that reflects both tactile and visual sensations. The robust texture adds structure and enhances the overall look, making the Goodman Jacket a trusty alternative to the essential sport jacket.

For the first time, we’ve let the cut of our trousers be the pièce de résistance, emphasising form and flow.
These 'leisure trousers' feature a free-flowing silhouette that transitions effortlessly from a straight wide leg to a bootcut, exuding presence and drama. They showcase a soft, unstructured 'Hollywood' waist, offering a moderate high-rise fit that perfectly complements their wide-legged design. Crafted without waistbands and double forward pleats, these trousers sit higher on the waist without restricting comfort, providing a liberating fit.
The fabric is an exceptional duck canvas crafted from a blend of cotton, ramie, and linen. The predominant cotton content provides structure, while the linen and silk-like ramie enhance the smooth handle and moisture-wicking properties, adding a hint of silkiness without the fragility of fine silks. This distinctive weave stands apart from traditional robust duck canvas, offering a unique texture with no compromise on comfort.

An extension to our iconic knitted t-shirt, this is a piece designed with cooler seasons in mind, knitted in long sleeves and heftier yarn. A reinterpreted design inspired by the fishermen's sweaters and vintage sportswear, this is the culmination of contemporary and ‘high vintage’.
The sweater style features a simple design with specific proportions — a higher neck, ribbed sleeve and collar, shorter body and longer ribbed hem. The detail allows the sweater to hug around your trousers’ waistband without going too long or needing to be tucked in, maintaining good overall proportions even when paired with mid to high-rise trousers and sport coats.
This product is made of 6-ply Supima cotton, handpicked and sustainably farmed. (Please read our Ethical Sourcing and Production Statement). Incorporating full knitted construction, this knitwear gives a structured body and shaping, while can still being able to be machine-washed. To enhance the luxurious silken finish and soft hand, the garment has gone through a tumble washing procedure in a final step unique to The Anthology.

Hybrid designs are a common theme in the house’s footwear design. Retaining the excellence of traditional English shoemaking, this is yet another design that pushes the envelope of legendary English-shoemaking house Crockett & Jones. This is our take on a completely unlined dress loafer.
Named after a small coastal town, it comes with the sensibility of relaxation. It has the comfort of a small, quaint town, but a sharp design for the big city. We envision this to be the softest possible shoe for dress use. Made structureless on the upper, it is suitable with tailoring or suits for an elevated look. It is an elegant shoe with a more angular toe box, featuring sharper lines to compensate for its completely unlined structure.
Crafted in luxurious milled calf, a soft calfskin that is comparable to sheepskin, with a buttery soft dark brown surface dressed with natural fine grains with no after-finish. To complement the softness of the design, the overall shoe is completely unlined. Do note this is lasted on a 72 last but due to its unlined structure they carry a sharper profile.
This incredibly soft shoe is yet Goodyear welted, made the old English way. Box and individual shoe bags included.

If we were to think of a trouser design that stands for the 2000s, it oughts to be a pair of drawstrings thus far. As much as we adore casual styles, this is not a sign of us giving in to the apathetic (can’t-be-bothered) attitude. The two are distinctly different.
As part of The Anthology’s resortwear series, this pair of breezy linen trousers injects with a dose of Italian Riviera chic, suitable to wear on both the beach and the city.
The modern drawstring waistband detailing does not only offer flexibility to the waist, but it essentially adorns the more casual aesthetic, also differentiating from our classically tailored trousers.
We sourced this Japanese linen twill for breathability to tackle the summer heat, while determined to retain a nicely tailored form. Flowy but tapered in cut with single reverse pleats, also equipped with welted side and back pockets, one can indulge in this pair of everyday trousers with utmost comfort while retaining a clean and smart look. Suitable for styling with just anything ranging from a t-shirt to a sports coat.
Hem can be rolled up to mimic the look of a trouser cuff if necessary. We recommend leaving it as it is.

We are delighted to co-create this street slipper with Bowhill & Elliott, the last remaining slipper maker in the UK. This esteemed house still upholds the traditional ethos of "make in the back, sell in the front," with the entire shoemaking process taking place within two floors.
The upper pattern of the street slipper is meticulously hand-cut from a single piece, resulting in a more fluid and seamless design. Departing from the conventional Albert-style evening slipper, this tailored creation features a shorter vamp and eliminates sharp turns on the tongue, maintaining a consistently soft contour. This complements the natural curves of our tailoring, allowing for a more casual styling option. Imagine a standard slip-on loafer, but refined with one-piece leather and a thin, hand-attached sole that closely hugs the bottom of the shoe, exuding an understated elegance. It pairs beautifully with trousers, denim, and shorts alike.

A weighty four-ply twill jacket with defined indented twills sweeping across the garment, giving distinctive overall textures and tactility. The distinctive ridges draw reference from the look of cavalry twill. It can mimic a formal look, while the on-hand experience draws parallel with a jersey jacket. The Oatmeal Wool/Cashmere Sport Jacket, a special order exclusively available via Artefacts, lays the foundation. It's met with the gentle touch of the grey Oyster Shirt, woven from a luxurious blend of cotton, silk, and merino, offering a whisper of refinement. Wide white trousers introduce a sense of lightness, grounded by dark brown accents in rich textures—suede, deerskin, and the smooth lines of marbled acetate sunglasses. Luscious jacket that feels like a cloud. Less punchy in shade than stone or cream, this is a wearable fall-winter option for those who are keen on light neutral tones. We shook hands with one of the finest cashmere producers who we work closely with for this deadstock piece. Beautifully soft-handed with a gentle plush, fully engaging with the lambswool and cashmere blend.
This design features a 6-roll-2 configuration, slightly more horizontal lapels, subtly angled, signature lapel buttonhole, also higher armholes giving the garment an exceptional range of motion. We’ve also extended the shoulders slightly with our unpadded waterfall shoulder for an extra touch of casual flair.

The design features a special chest pocket design with jetted seam finish. The construction is where it differentiates from our other creations. We opted for the softest interlining for collars and cuffs, giving a more pared down, unfussy aesthetic to make the narrative whole. The wear experience is incomparable. It is an absolute delight to wear against the skin. Very smooth with minimal friction points. Fabrication is still machine-washable.

We made this navy just a little different from your usual ones by adding a single teal yarn to create a slight green cast that combines gracefully with blue. This is the third iteration of our navy Lazyman Jacket, with all details refined, and it is likely to be the final version of its kind. It is a piece with slightly reinforced weave, in special woollen spun technique which leads to an extremely soft, louche, and fuzzy creation. Designed for the city, the multi-purpose jacket is suitable for all seasons.
