Desert Sculpture

Carefully sculpted; meticulously crafted. A beautiful outcome requires nothing else but a culmination of craft and design.

“The building (‘Desert Rose’) I designed needed to reflect these three different stories. The first, which covers a long period, is the story of the peninsula and its inhabitants. The second is an exploration of the coastal and desert lifestyles as well as the pearling industry, and third covers the spectacular acceleration that gave the kingdom.” - Jean Nouvel

Similar to The Anthology tailoring, we apply the same practice to our designs. We explore multiple dimensions of an artefact. First, we document and demonstrate heritage and traditions. Second, it seeks modernity and originality through its signature house style and structure. By combining factors of curves and soft lines, the garment seamlessly forms an accumulation of sinuosities, leading to a solid form. Third, it brings in a dynamic range of energy through the sui generis application of fabric. In this instance, the wavily textured seersucker in faint white/white catalyses into a final result that is overtly dramatic because of the radiance of the achromatic extreme, yet at the same time, gentle structure presented by the subtly undulating characteristic of seersucker. We aspire to make tailoring that bridges the glamorous yesterdays, today yet applicable for tomorrow.
