An Outfit
Our first ready-to-wear launch in 2022. Brought to you during this intermission season: 'An Outfit', designed that is mindful of the unexpected changes throughout the days from winter to spring. This release revolves around one outfit — a double-breasted sport jacket, a pair of Civilman trousers and four shirts of the same style in different colours, each to their own. Transform your looks and fully utilise your wardrobe pieces. Wear them interseasonally and over and over again.
Why one?
A season's intermission is short-lived. Enclaved in a setting where the vast majority of fashion industries produce garments by collection, we refuse to conform to tacit expectations, living up to the imaginary standards of overproducing when there is a lack of need.
We think one is good enough for this time of the year. Although not your usual navy suit set, we see this as an augment to the fundamental wardrobe instead of a one-off statement burden that one would need to consider getting rid of.
It is why we choose tailoring in our specific house style because we know it would be timeless. Softer canvassed and in silhouette, with an absence of shoulder padding, a simple expression of modernity with the amplification on cloth, craft and cutting.
This series features a brushed cotton double-breasted jacket in a unique fawn colour. Like our previous Peanut but a little mistier and murkier in colour, yet contrasted with a pronounced twill weave feature. The colour bears a faint resemblance to a young deer, featuring a unique muted tan-brown. It is dissimilar to any other khakis or taupes, unusual but easy to pair with other fundamental pieces in a wardrobe. At the forefront of cotton fabrics, its brushed finish hallmarks a luxurious suede handle. When the fibres get combed in different directions, a natural flair of colour disparity shows like a nicely napped suede. The fabric is also composed of an ideal weight for the best drape and form cotton can obtain.
This series of flanneled cotton shirting feels incredible against the skin, bringing the softness of our shirting to new heights. We think it can hardly be over-achieved unless there's the actual use of cashmere, but that comes with various consequential downsides. The highly boasted fabrication can achieve such an outcome, all thanks to its finely brushed finish. The flanneled cotton series comes in relaxed yet sophisticated colour with a modern edge. The flanneling successfully brings down the strength of the vividity with its fuzziness while amplifying the softness and comfort of the garment. This Japanese cotton flannel is mindfully woven in a lighter weight to counter the heat-trapping property of flannel. Suitable for three-season use, also machine washable.
We showcased three out of four colours, in Rust Brown, Saffron Yellow and Fern Green, as we know the last option in Navy does not require any further elaboration. This design comes with the classic wide spread collar and a French placket, spotlighting our original double-stitched sport chest pocket and waterfall shoulder, side pleat at the back and hand-cut barrel cuffs. All four artefacts are now part of our Advanced Made-to-order Shirting Program. For Anthologists who already own existing shirting blocks from us, you may repeat the previous fit or make minor iterations if necessary.
Transeasonal dressing matters. But we are not informed about it. The seasonal change from winter to spring can be deceiving. It is the time when one feels almost sparse the chilly breeze sojourns like a hoax after all those heavier coats get sent back into the storage or the other side of the wardrobe. They certainly pick their moments, and all we can do is to outwit them. All you need is two layers, a warm shirt and a warm jacket. This way of dressing shows respect to the season and allows flexibility. One can easy cool down when feeling overjoyed and overheated, yet be capable to blanket over a trusty garment to catch some warmth while spending your time outdoors or during the night.
The Civilman Trousers in Deep Olive Cotton Drill lends full credit for the bottoms. Durable in structure and rich but dark in colour, these flat front trousers with jean pockets and anchor flapped pockets allow the best versatility in styling. They are ideal for everyday use, be it with a sport jacket or casual shirt and more.
