Lazyman Jacket - Soft Teal Ribbed Stripe

Lazyman Jacket - Soft Teal Ribbed Stripe

US$625.00

55% Cotton, 45% Wool

Designed for stylish riviera fanatics and well-travelled individuals, this Spring/Summer offering is a great colour to complement the colour of the ocean. It also acts as the ideal travel companion that does you well without over or under-dressing — a good replacement of a sport jacket when the setting calls for a light, dressy layer.

The Lazyman Jacket is The Anthology’s signature product — an unconstructed jacket made for the modern man. This version is designed to be a cardigan-like garment that is an alternative to your work blazer. The product features 3 functional pockets, rollable sleeves and adjustable side tabs at the back.

Fabric is a now deadstock piece by prestigious fabric producer Holland & Sherry. It features the elegant soft teal green, with faint notes of sandy beige running along with the weave. Instead of a flat surface, the fabric offers a three-dimensional look by defining lines through its ribbing weave. It looks almost like seersucker, except the puckering is omitted, remaining a clean, refined look. This ribbing cloth in a cotton/wool mix is also well-thought-out. Fine cotton airs well under the heat, but it creases. With a significant amount of wool to counter the effect, the jacket springs back and maintains good shape even after folding or a long day of wearing, guaranteed to be travel-friendly.

Pair this with: khaki, white/cream, navy, or brown. Wear it above our knitted short sleeve polo in tennis white or club navy during the sunny day with sand pleated shorts, or drawstring trousers in navy or honey linen. Alternatively, style it with our terry popover in china blue at the beach and finish off the look with your Panama hat, French espadrilles and favourite pair of sunnies.

Also available in other fabrics.

Terry Popover - China Blue
US$230.00

Japanese Towelling Cloth, 80% Cotton 20% Polyamide

As part of The Anthology’s resortwear series, this is a riviera-themed popover with a vintage but modern styling.

Having functionality in mind, we envision this piece to be worn loosely, casually before and after a swim. Hence, no buttons or fastenings are needed around the neck to keep it the simplest possible. The devil in detail lies upon the hand-attached collar-piece. It is the only way to avoid collars from looking distorted when working with such soft towelling cloth. It is also a crucial hand-done procedure to ensure a beautifully laid-out open-collared look once popped over.

Piped with a cushioned layer around the seams, also the end of the sleeves and the main body, the meticulous detailing offers a drapey yet lazy feel, also full-bodied, with better definition. To further compliment the holiday at ease feel to it, we specially fitted a fuller chest drape along with extended shoulders/dropped shoulder seams, also a straighter hem for a slightly boxier and fuller-bodied look. The ensemble adds up as a completion to the whole ‘Lazyman’ look by default.

High split gussets are added on both ends of the garment for more action-friendly hand and pocket movements.

Pair this with: white/cream, green or navy. Perfect for the beach paired with drawstring trousers, shorts or swimming trunks. Finish off the look with your Panama hat, French espadrilles and your favourite pair of sunnies.

Cotton/Linen Double Pleated Shorts - Sand
US$235.00

65% Cotton, 35% Linen

Long, but right before your knees, keeping your proportions right, also exemplifying pleated perfection.

If a pair of shorts go too long, covering one's knees, it makes one looks short. If the shorts are done too short and timid, it would look more like a pair of swim trunks, or worse, boxers. This artefact is all about striking the perfect balance, and we managed to find the unrivalled solution.

As part of The Anthology’s resortwear series, this is a ‘modern-vintage’ design made in a cotton/linen blend as a quintessential item, suitable to wear on the beach, the city, or even an excursion.

The form of the shorts is the true essence — it embodies chic and comfort. With practicality in mind, the design comes with slight volume around the thigh and the opening, ensuring the piece to be generous around the thigh part, allows ventilation.

The use of cloth is also the highlight. Cotton as the major constituent upholds a supple and moist look to the general garment, smoothens up linen’s characteristically dry and crisp handle. It also offers a more structural body, making creases look less wrinkly. The appeal is reminiscent of traditional preppy or English country chinos, just with an extra touch of linen for a sense of modernity and practicalism.

Linen also serves a functional purpose as it possesses a quick-dry effect and ventilating property due to its looser weaving structure, allowing wearers to enjoy their best under the heat. It is also traditionally perceived as a luxurious fabrication.

(We recommend the shorts hem to end right before your knees, otherwise, bring it to your alteration tailor for a simple alteration for the best result.)

Linen Drawstring Trousers - Honey
US$295.00

100% Japanese Linen

If we were to think of a trouser design that stands for the 2000s, it oughts to be a pair of drawstrings thus far. As much as we adore casual styles, this is not a sign of us giving in to the apathetic (can’t-be-bothered) attitude. The two are distinctly different.

As part of The Anthology’s resortwear series, this pair of breezy linen trousers injects with a dose of Italian Riviera chic, suitable to wear on both the beach and the city.

The modern drawstring waistband detailing does not only offer flexibility to the waist, but it essentially adorns the more casual aesthetic, also differentiating from our classically tailored trousers.

We sourced this Japanese linen twill for breathability to tackle the summer heat, while determined to retain a nicely tailored form. Flowy but tapered in cut with single reverse pleats, also equipped with welted side and back pockets, one can indulge in this pair of everyday trousers with utmost comfort while retaining a clean and smart look. Suitable for styling with just anything ranging from a t-shirt to a sports coat.

Hem can be rolled up to mimic the look of a trouser cuff if necessary. We recommend leaving it as it is.

Pair this with: cream, navy or brown. Perfect for spring/summer worldwide. Wear it with our Cuban Camp Collar Shirt in ‘Sunset’ or Terry Popover in Cloud White during your stay in resorts with a pair of espadrilles and favourite pair of sunnies.
